The former Dome prison of Haarlem will be transformed into the new home for University College Haarlem. The surrounding area will be transformed into a public campus, with student housing, social housing, a hotel and several public facilities. The introvert and literally closed area within the prison walls will open up to the city. For the students of the University College 250 housing units will be realised by DUWO. reA is working on the design of 165 new units in combination with the students canteen, a bicycle shop and parking, along and including the monumental prison walls.
